CRISPR/Cas9 system

The last couple of years have witnessed an explosion in development of CRISPR-based genome editing technologies in cell lines as well as in model organisms. We have reported an effective CRISPR/Cas9 system in Drosophila (Ren et al., PNAS, 2013). In this system, plasmids encoding sgRNAs are injected into embryos of germline specific Cas9 transgenic flies.


Based on the germline specific Cas9 system, we analyzed parameters of sgRNA and improved the specificity and efficiency of this system (Ren et al., Cell Roports, 2014). Right now, we can offer several delivery methods of the CRISPR/Cas9 system in Drosophila as shown below (Xu et al., JGG, 2015).
